The God Account

What if…

You began to believe that there really is a “God Account?” An actual heavenly account that’s set up for us to invest in and see great returns! For decades the stock market and other financial institutions have promised people wealth upon wealth for making the right investments at the right time! So now imagine how God could be glorified if we began to see the God Account as a viable place to make investments too!

In Luke 18:22 God says, “Sell all that you possess and distribute it to the poor and you shall have treasure in heaven.”  What if we knew the day and hour that He was to return?  What if His return were in 25 days? What would you do different? Would you be willing to change your investments to those that are lasting? Would you consider transferring funds from the accounts that you can see to those that cannot be seen – to your “God Account?”

Are you ready for a challenge? Say this scripture aloud to God, Test Me now in this . . .”

And if you are truly trusting in the God Account this scripture will ring true in response,

“…see if I will not open for you the windows of heaven, and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows. Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it may not destroy the fruits of the ground, nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes…and all the nations will call you blessed, for you shall be a delightful land, says the Lord of Hosts.”

WOW—talk about a great ROI!

We all love to quote a familiar verse about having our needs met. Philippians 4:19 comes to mind, “And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” You have probably used it to encourage a friend in need, and even to boost your spirits during your own difficult season. But have you ever looked back a few verses to Philippians 4:17? “Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account.” This is true evidence of the GOD ACCOUNT!

When you look at the context of this verse, Paul is writing a thank you note to a church that has just given a financial gift to his ministry. Paul did not have trouble receiving this gift because he knew the gift would not only bless him but those who gave because they were actually funding God’s causes in the world. Paul knew that because they had given in obedience, God would supply all their needs!

Friend, if you find yourself in a position of receiving – praise God because He is providing for you but also promises to bring increase to the accounts of the gift givers themselves! There is no room for payback or feelings of guilt because the God Account provides for all. 2 Corinthians 8:14 puts it this way,

“At this present time your abundance being a supply for their want, that their abundance also may become a supply for your want, that there may be equality.”

And if you are prompted to be a giver in this season – praise God because all your own personal needs will be met, and as your faith and trust increase so does your God Account!
