Anchor Promises for the Widow and Fatherless in Times of Crisis

God keeps His promises find one and hold onto it. Make them the anchor of your soul!

“Now she who is a widow indeed and who has been left alone, 

has fixed her hope on God 

and continues in entreaties and prayers night and day.” 

1 Timothy 5:5

“Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8

Thank you for giving us promises to keep our focus and perspective in the right place.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Isaiah 26:3

Thank you for the gift of peace. May I turn my thoughts to you.

“All your children will be taught by the LORD, and great will be their peace.” Isaiah 54:13

I do pray that my children will have peace now and as they grow up.

“For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.” Psalm 139:13-16

Thank you that you are Sovereign and in control of my days. Please help me to find comfort in this.

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.” Psalm 68:5

Thank you for the promise that you are my Defender and a Father to my children.

“Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

Thank you for the promise that you are with me and will never leave.

I will not die, but live, and tell of the works of the LORD.” Psalm 118:17

I am not sure that I can live without the one I love. Please give me hope that you will be faithful.

He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” Psalm 23:3

Lord, oh how I need for you to restore my soul!
