Dear God,
You are amazing. Your ways are higher than ours, always, and, you are always working for our good and your glory! Thank you for community—the wonderful gift of community! It is such a comfort to have a village of support from volunteers who listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit with obedience. Please let these faithful ones know how their acts of service and kindness greatly impact the widow and fatherless.
I pray the following blessing on those who volunteer to help the widow:
Lord, the volunteer often gives sacrificially not knowing how their own needs will be met. My prayer is that you would supply all their needs according to the riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
Lord, you encourage volunteers to make sure the widow and fatherless eat and are satisfied. Thank you for the promise that you will bless the work of the hands of those who serve and give in this way (Deut. 14:29).
Lord, the widow often discovers that her community disappears along with the death of her husband. Thankfully, your word reminds us that “there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24). Please bless the volunteers who have included the widow and fatherless into their family of support.
Thank you for your plan to use volunteers to provide tangible help to the widow and fatherless. I pray the volunteer will discover that it truly is more blessed to give than receive.
I pray abundant blessings on all volunteers.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
